We are a Barbershop Quartet, from the Central Valley of California. The entire quartet are members of the Championship Fresno Gold Note Chorus. Quartet members (from left to right) On Tenor - Jim Warner Jim is a retired Park Ranger, from Squaw Valley, currently the Far Western District Services Chairman, Fresno Chapter President Fresno Goldnoter Editor and was Barbershopper Of The Year in 1989 On Lead - H.L. "MAC" McIntosh Mac is Owner/Director of the Gingiss Formalwear franchise in Clovis, California. Mac is the Communications Vice President of the Fresno Gold Note Chorus and is also a member of the Golden Valley Chorus, and was Barbershopper Of The Year in 1997. On Bass - Gordon "MONGO" Bergthold Gordon is a General Real Estate Appraiser in Visalia, and lives in Three Rivers. Mongo is also a Past President of the Fresno Chapter, and the newest member of DIRECT HIT! On Baritone - Chuck Irwin Chuck is a retired Air Force Colonel, living in Fresno. Chuck is the Show Chairman for Fresno's annual show Harmony Adventure, he is a Past President of the Fresno Chapter and was Barbershopper Of The Year in 1981. Direct Hit! started singing together within the Jubilation Singers, as a quartet in the fall of 1996. We registered as Direct Hit! 2 months prior to the NorCal East Divisional contest, where we placed 3rd in our first contest. Due to health problems, our orginal bass, Jim Turnmire, left the quartet in spring on 1998, Mongo joined us that summer.
